Now we have a competitively sound ewe base, where all the sheep have originated from very nice show lambs or show quality sheep. The excellent diversity of our flock has proven to be very beneficial and unique. Our customers can find almost any type of lamb they want from the tremendously high powered sheep to the very stylish with lots of eye appeal.
Some of the producers that our genetics have come from are: Wheaton, MacLennan, Miller, Ellerbrock, Mercantel, Cabaniss, Hancock, Johnson (OK), Ott, Crego Livestock, Rule, Mason, Mcllrath, Eastep, Brasfield, Virginia Tech, Cox, & several others.
"About The Armstrong Lambs Shepherds" Our farms are located in the beautiful foothills of Stokes County, North Carolina. Randy works at RJReynolds Tobacco Company and along with raising lambs enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time (if there is any). Sally is a fifth grade elementary school teacher. She is an avid enthusiast of the outdoors and thoroughly enjoys backpacking, skiing, hiking, and camping. Austin is a graduate from North Carolina State University and double majored in Agriculture Business Management and Animal Science. Austin was fortunate to be able to excel during his showing era, thanks to the support of his parents and John Brasfield. We have a passion for helping children and teaching them everything we know about sheep. It is more than enjoyable to us to watch children who know nothing about lambs pick a lamb out, learn about their project, build responsibility, and become rewarded at the end of the season with their project.
In 2009, a new shepherd was added to the family. On November 7th, Austin married Jessica Armstrong. Jessica is a graduate of Wake Forest University, majoring in English. Jessica enjoys sheep and runs the dorset sector of our business. Austin and Jessica have two children, Abilene and River.
